Will do this when I'm in a writing mood! One day. Eventually.

There were no trees nor mountains to block his sight; no earth nor rock beneath his hooves.
Only an ocean that stretched infinitely in all directions,
And a sun that sunk sank slowly, deliberately,
Casting off brilliant colors as it fell.
Before it settled, at last, on a red sky at night.

The image of
gentle light through leaves; a sun-dappled forest floor.
[An image that will be drawn... Eventually!]

He is alone.
(if you do not count the sea of life before him;
Acha, Kimeti, Kiokote, Totoma, Zikwa,
Of every colour, every shape, every age)
He has been performing for hours.
The audience is silent.
Waiting.
Someone, far in the back, whispers,
"He must have more than one trick, surely?"
Strikes-First

She, like any good Totoma, has always enjoyed solving conflict quickly and with force - there was no disagreement too small for a little scuffle, in her opinion - no matter the size of her opponent. Because of this, the name "Strikes-First" was a teasing one for most of her life: even as a lamb she challenged those twice her size for a prime patch of grass or the best place to rest in. It wasn't until her herd began travelling south, however, that she
earned the name. A desperate band of totoma had kidnapped a lamb from her herd and blocked their passage, demanding a share of their dwindling resources for the lamb's return. But before anyone could react, she had charged forward and knocked one of the leaders out cold, allowing her herd a chance to overwhelm the other, rescue the lamb, and continue their journey.
(Write this out properly some day!)
Hooves dragged along the beaten path and drowsy heads dipped in half-slumber before bolting upright again. Though it was never said aloud, the totoma's tribe was growing weary after days of almost nonstop travel along the mountain's winding paths. But they were among the last of the tribes to leave for the season - the stinging wind of oncoming winter reminded them of this, and why it was they couldn't rest. Not until they had left the mountains, at least, but they were so close. The ground was becoming softer and the slopes less steep; rolling hills could be glimpsed ahead.
