history; Ashborn, for as long as she can remember, has known sadness. She was born to a half-hearted mother who tried to give her all but was always missing a part of her. For the first few years of her life, she longed to believe that this mysterious figure would return and she became her mother's defender. As she grew, however, the hope for her father turned to resentment as she began to understand how broken her mother really was and her role of defender morphed into protector. For a long time this went unchallenged, and then once dreams became nightmare when Heritage, her father, returned.
